NEW! Family Yoga
What’s better than yoga class? Yoga class at the zoo!
Children, of all ages, and parents alike can experience the benefits of yoga in a fun, natural environment. The animals will be our teachers as we practice animal asanas (yoga postures) and learn about how ancient yogis modeled their exercise by observing wildlife. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat.

Classes are taught by Jomana Papillo, CYT 250, CKYT. She has also trained with Louise Goldberg and ChildLight Yoga in yoga for special needs children. Classes focus on fun basic yoga poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. Classes emphasize creative expression, games, books, music, positive
affirmations and lots of storytelling.

Workshops for Individual Scouts
If you cannot get your troop together for a workshop program at the zoo, here is an opportunity for your girls to attend workshops individually. These fun, educational programs are designed to help Scouts earn their try-its, patches and interest projects. Each program includes: Zoo admission, guided zoo tour, train ride (seasonal-weather/facilities permitting), live animal presentation, booklet, workshop materials, and a zoo patch. Participants will also be treated to a pizza lunch and ice cream snack!
